Problem

A leading OTT player in India wanted to increase Fan engagement and monetisation during marquee sports events.

The fans were accessing their App for live scores, but not spending considerable time on the App otherwise. And hence not many fans were buying the OTT Subscription.

Solution

We created content and animation-based games for Football and Cricket.

The games involved picture quizzes, live polls, and team fantasy selections.

Fans could give their answers and get points and move up on leaderboards. And then come back the next day before the next match, attracted by the challenge to flaunt their sport’s analysis skills and add to their points.

Action Points

We conceptualised the games, put them in a widget and put the widget in the App.

We also created Live Match Trivia on the Widget to keep the fans engaged.

There was a CTA button on the games which led to Subscription of the OTT Streaming services.

Outcomes

Over 10 Million Users were provided the games.

The time spent by users in the App went up from a daily average of 6 seconds to 21 seconds.

The number of OTT Subscriptions jumped by 50%.
